There are many bacterial infections that are related to a cold or flu and that are what makes Pneumonia tricky to diagnose, and in fact you may not even know that you have Pneumonia until the symptoms become quite extreme.
pneumonia can be contracted when the persons mouth, nose or throat already have some sort of bacterial infection and the drainage of that bacteria can then enter the lungs causing the lungs to absorb the bacteria causing infection.
When this condition has reached from just a cold to a bacterial infection you will see symptoms such as chest pain, cough, fatigue, loss of appetite, vomiting, and or diarrhea and this type of pneumonia will now need to be treated by a health professional.
The treatment for pneumonia depends on the person’s age and medical history, so when the condition worsens it is best to see a doctor that can prescribe the right medications for their condition.
Treatment for pneumonia will be determined by a doctor and he/she will take into effect the patient’s medical history, and overall health of the person before determining medications.
The extent of the inflammation of the lungs and the pneumonia cause is also taken into consideration. Typically antibiotics will then be prescribed and a specific diet may be recommended to keep fluids in the body. In severe cases of this disease, bacterial will spread and the patient will vomit losing allot of fluids and become fatigued easily. When this happens a visit to the hospital may be required and an IV will be a must to get the fluids up to a normal, healthy level.
The best medicine is prevention: When someone is coming down with a cold stay away from them, if you happen to be around allot of people where a mask or scarf to cover your mouth so as to not contract what they may be caring. Eat healthy yourself and keep up on regular exercise and your immune system will stay strong to help you fight off any bacteria that are floating about.
They may signs that a person has this disease but has chosen to not seek medical help due to medical costs or lack of health benefits. Please know that this would not be a wise decision, as not treating pneumonia can lead to death.
With over 50 distinct inflammatory diseases of the lungs characterized by the buildup of fluid in the lungs it is easy to be confused as to if you just have a cold or something that must be treated by a doctor- don’t be afraid to make a call to a medical center and just ask questions, they will help you.
Take the guess work out of what health benefits you qualify for.
